David Nebreda, Bachelor of Fine Arts, was diagnosed with schizophrenia at age 19. He takes self portraits after whipping, burning, cutting and starving himself.
He lives locked in a flat in Madrid where he makes all his photographic work. He doesn’t take medication, refuses to have communication with the outside world (no radio, newspapers, books or television), practices abstinence, and subjects himself to severe fasts to maintain a state of emaciation.Amazing.
That’s not amazing. It’s sad.
